Inspiration

Plein air painting has taken me to some extraordinary parts of NSW - and made me sit there long enough to really see and appreciate what is around me. I feel that a realistic watercolour, done on the spot, is still a valid and personal response to the landscape - even and perhaps specially in this age of bulk technology. The eye picks out what is striking to the artist, who then has the challenge of getting it down on paper.

Ideally the result is genuine and unique!
