Weddin Mountains (near Grenfell, NSW) rise fairly abruptly from flat country - this is some of the flat country. Two of the older folk I've shown this painting to have recognised the pademelons as potential ingredients for jam - I just loved their shapes and colour against the red of the soil and darkness of the pines. There was a dampness in the air due to recent rain and this softened a scene that must bake in sunshine through summer.

The work is unframed, painted with Winsor and Newton and Art Spectrum Artists' quality paints on a Saunders block of 300gsm, cold pressed, rag paper.
